Hopmeadow Hypnosis operates in compliance with the National Guild of Hypnotists’ Code of Ethics and Recommended Standards of Practice
Additionally, Hypnosis is regulated in the State of Connecticut by the Department of Consumer Protection
Confidentiality
Your personally identifiable information (PII) such as name, address, phone number, email address, biographical information and personal health information (PHI) such as records, notes, or other health data will not be released to any other party, without your written information or consent, except by compliance of local, state, or federal laws.
You have a right to obtain your session notes, records, recordings, for any reason.

Compliance with Laws
PCI Compliance
Hopmeadow Hypnosis does not retain Payment Card Information in any form, and as such is exempt.
HIPAA Compliance
Hopmeadow Hypnosis is exempt from HIPAA compliance by definition, but maintains safeguards that protect your PII and PHI. Here’s what we do:
- Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your PHI that we create, receive, maintain, or transmit.
- Identify and protect against reasonably anticipated threats to the security or integrity of the information.
- Protect against reasonably anticipated, impermissible uses or disclosures.
- Ensure compliance by our workforce.
Some of the ways we do this include the following:
- Verifying your identity when disclosing your client information to you or another authorized party
- Obtaining written authorization by you when disclosing your client information to any party other than yourself
- Use locked storage and offsite storage of client information
- Use data encryption and other data security measures for managing client information
- Limit collection of client information to its essential use
- Ensure training and compliance of all staff and persons who work with client information at our organization

Connecticut State Law
Registration of Hypnotists
All hypnotists practicing at Hopmeadow Hypnosis are registered with the State of Connecticut. You can verify any hypnotist and medical professional practicing in the State of Connecticut here – we support your right to verify your service providers practicing in Connecticut. Conversion Therapy
Hopmeadow Hypnosis will not perform any practice or treatment defined as Conversion Therapy on any individual under 18 years of age, as defined by Connecticut State law. (CT Public Act No. 17-5, approved, effective May 10, 2017 – https://www.cga.ct.gov/2017/act/pa/2017PA-00005-R00HB-06695-PA.htm)
Mandatory Reporting
Hopmeadow Hypnosis complies with mandatory reporting of the suspected abuse and neglect of children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly, as required by Connecticut Law. Although hypnotists are not specifically named as mandatory reporters by Connecticut, our staff hypnotists may have additional certifications and licensure that require their fulfillment of mandatory reporting requirements, as well as the best interests of all clients they serve.
Duty to Warn (of potentially violent conduct, physical injury, injury to property, self-harm, or suicide)
